My Favorite Things: May 2022

I know I’ve said this before, but how can a month feel both long and short at the same time? May was like that for me, long and short, but even so, I’m feeling excited and hopeful for June.

Here are a few things I’ve enjoyed or that have encouraged me this month…

This sermon series on learning to wait and this sermon on learning to dig (metaphorical) ditches (ie: being prepared for God’s answer to our prayers) were greatly encouraging to me this month.

I shared a revelation I had this month about doing the deep work with God. I hope it’s helpful for your own journey.

Here’s how to move forward when you don’t have answers.

And here’s how to handle your spiritual coming of age.

This article on why compassion is divisive is one of the best things I read all month, as is this one on why being committed to kindness doesn’t mean surrendering your convictions.

Being a coastal grandmother is like all my life goals rolled into one!

Love is our destiny.

A note on hurry and fear.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” This is my verse for the year and I absolutely loved and appreciated this breakdown of what it means within context.

I make this strawberry spoon cake many, many times during the summer and it never gets old. I also use different fruits in place of strawberries and it’s always a winner. I don’t even like baking or sweets, so this is saying a lot!

This conversation on the SBC Apocalypse is important for all of us, every denomination. Her comments on what happens when we adopt a “pornographic view of womanhood” were spot on.

I also appreciated this conversation on politics poisoning the church as it’s become a heartbreaking reality to see churches and friendships split due to politics.

This sermon on the lesson of the loaves and the fish challenged and encouraged me this week. I hope it does the same for you!

Peter trying to impress Jesus is so relatable. LOL.
