My Spring 2023 Reading List

My Spring Reading List

Spring! It’s here already and yet it sure doesn’t feel like springtime as it’s still quite chilly outside. I guess it’s the perfect weather to curl up with a good book. Speaking of which, what are you reading these days?

In addition to the books below, I’m also reading an out-of-print biography of Hudson Taylor whose life and faith are incredibly inspiring. There are quite a few biographies on him out there, as well as his autobiography, so if you’re looking for a great addition to your library, I recommend anything by or about him.

I’ll also be reading through The Pursuit of Holiness with a friend and I can’t wait to start. We read through Jerry Bridges’ The Fruitful Life together a while back and it was such a great experience to talk about each chapter and share what we got out of it.

By the way, you might notice a theme with quite a few of these books. These days I feel drawn toward the topic of creativity and calling, so my reading selections naturally gravitated toward that.

Here’s what I’m reading this spring…

Art and Faith: A Theology of Making - Makoto Fujimura

A Long Obedience in the Same Direction - Eugene Peterson

Renovation of the Heart - Dallas Willard

The Pursuit of Holiness - Jerry Bridges

Adorning the Dark - Andrew Peterson

Lifting the Veil: Imagination and the Kingdom of God - Malcolm Guite

The Still Hour - Austin Phelps

Hudson Taylor’s biography - (The one I’m reading is out of print but this is a similar, abbreviated version.)

What are you reading right now?

(This is not a sponsored post and I’m not affiliated with anyone or anything in it. I also sometimes read books by authors whose views I may not agree with, either theologically or politically.)
