My Favorite Things: April 2022

April is over already! I’ve been walking and enjoying the warmer weather, even if we’ve had a cold snap or two. I’ve also been enjoying a deep dive on the book of Philippians this month. I think it’s often thought of as one of the “lighter” epistles due to being labeled the epistle of “joy,” but there’s a lot of depth there and I’m soaking it all up like a sponge.

Here are a few things I’ve enjoyed or that have encouraged me this month…

Asking myself this question.

“Storms redirect our focus. They help us reconnect to our faith. Storms teach us how to weather the calms.” Ok, now I want a root cellar! And I want it filled with all the goodies she mentioned (metaphorically and literally)!

The Denominations Get to Heaven - LOLLL. I can attest that the Baptist and non-denominational ones are 100% accurate haha!

Also, The Denominations Take Heaven’s Entrance Exam - “I learned that in AWANA!” DYING.

Here are 10 new or lesser-known female theologians that I can’t wait to check out!

What convinced James his brother was God? James is one of my favorite books of the Bible, and I’ve always wondered what it was like for him to have grown up with Jesus, lived as a critic of Jesus’ ministry and a denier of His deity, and then to have come to believe that his older brother was indeed God incarnate.

“If war had a voice, it would sound like a woman’s lament, a child’s fearful cry, a mother’s quiet prayer.” Here’s what Ukraine’s evangelical women want known about Russia’s war.

Why would God give me these desires if He’s not going to fulfill them?

And this is why the inner beauty conversation needs to change.

I love these 20 small garden ideas, especially that rolling cart as a mobile herb garden! Genius!

Is social media making us stupid? I’m still thinking about this and this follow-up article.

This sermon on praying to move mountains challenged and encouraged me this past week. I hope it does the same for you!
